Hmmm I've tried studying the original vs. Fakes... And I'm short on info... But Here's what I have:
Check the card before buying it... It's fake when: -The brightness/Contrast of the card is different -The back art is Purpleish than Blue -The art is Totally different (with exeptions to POP cards) -There is a difference with the color -There is a difference with the kind of material used to make the fake -Some fakes appear Glossy
The method I use to check for originals (kind of embarrassing...) Try smelling it~ If it has that "zesty mint condition print* smell (as my friends subbed it "SM smell")
If you would compare prints and Reprints new sets you would notice that the Background color is slightly different (slightly lighter/darker) But it doesn't mean it's fake!
Other methods, theorie, and information are welcome!

Hmm very cool way to know if a card is fake or not, card smelling. I've never seen that one on guides before I do believe this only works for newly bought cards? Am I right? the thickness and quality of the material used on making the card is also different for fakes and non fakes. Some of the fakes are like MRT and LRT cards XD. It should not be that flexible hehe. Look at the font of the cards also.

The card retain their "SM Smell" unless kept in a dusty place (hidden in a box in the attic/baOh Man!t/under the bed) or a place where smells stick on forever ( leaked perfume/incecticide/etc...) My Base set cards still have that smell... while the base set cards of a friend of mine (who kept it somewere) were dusty... I cant smell them right *achoo*... >...<

Lol Azphaellight (arghh I'm getting so lazy wrirting you name down all the time. I can usually see if it's fake by first Feel the card... It WILL feel different Look at the card... If it has bad image quality and etc Check where you bought it... I'm 100% sure NG will not sell fake cards Check the price... 20 pesos for a booster pack? Sounds fishy
Well you mentioned most of these but I think these are the most common (well I do this)

I've not seen an Original Pokemon Booster pack here in UPLB. I've seen a lot of Boosters and boxes that really look like the original. Pokemon Booster Packs are packaged tight! They should not be loose.
Parang nakadikit yung plastic sa card dapat yung feel. Di madaling galawin yung plastic.

actually guys dont make things very complicated for comparing a fake card or not.
sa PALENGKE, original pokemon cards? hahaha actually in Pasig there were a store there selling pokemon cards although I knew it was original because of the thickness and most of the time fake cards look faded and really have a big difference from the Original One. Yes, an original card when accidentally been wet by water will not be so fast absorbing the water because in my observation there were a very thin plastic covering original cards making it a little bit resistant to water, and try to wet a pokemon card from the original you will see .
From the cover, faded din ang cover and not that really attracting.
