It is very obvious that the pokemon trading card game is becoming very popular in the country. But we have a problem - shortage of stocks. Im not really sure but I think that pokemon is not being given fair attention. Most card stores sell little or no pokemon cards which is quite alarming. If card stores wont stock up, there will be shortage.. here's the question - what can we do to contribute so that stores will notice the demand for pokemon cards and address the shortage?

Unfortunately the demand is bigger than the supply. As observed by Nintendo's practice, the set release is usually four sets a year averaging 2-3 month interval per expansion within the year and 4-5 months in every year transition. (After Dragon Frontiers I have a hunch that Diamond Pearl will be in March or April). It is the usual cycle and...when the set is released always expect (not only in Neutral) that boosters are sold out the earliest is three weeks. Also, many players buy per booster box. Also the league leaders get their salary whatever expansion is available. The shipment of new stocks is usually weeks prior to order (I believe). If the expansion is "hot" this is usually the expansion that easily goes out of stock anywhere in the globe. Like CG and Unseen Forces (Dragon Frontier kaya ) Some players buy by the box. The price of the booster box is 4300 Php. Like in this case medyo mahirap makabili ng CG, LM and UF boosters, unless you buy the Emerald tin that contains 2 CG and 2 Emerald Boosters plus the promo EX card. Sa Neutral ang natitira ay HP, DS and a little LM. Tapos na siguro ang pagbibigay at paggawa ng stocks for CG kasi malapit na ang pre-release ng Dragon Frontiers at siyempre PUI will focus more on production of booster for DF. I know its quite long but this is already been this way and many know this or have the idea of it.

Well, if you remember the Law of Supply and Demand this could mean the increase in costs of Pokemon cards Good for importers bad for consumers.

Well it has been years already and the boosters have not increased (I doubt it will) their prices. They made that price in such they would not suffer in the long run "squeezing" themselves to opt for an increase.
So do not conclude that there will be an increase right there and then(if that you are emphasizing). Because there are many considerations and calculations involved that prevent this to happen.
The shortage of stocks is due popularity of a certian set, time interval (at this point you no longer expect new stocks of Crystal Guardain boosters once Dragon Frontiers comes becuase there are pre-relases).
Like I stated, the interval between sets is 2-3 months and expect that the stocks in the set will be good only (as I see it) on these months. Then, the focus will be on the next set. The reason why most people get used to it is because most of the cards that you miss in the previous sets (especially the trainer cards) are reprinted in future sets and get part of the modified format.

Well you can't blame the Pokemon Company. First things first, the cards themselves are not made in the Philippines (in China perphaps?). Second, I'm not even sure if the Philippines is a priority country (citation needed). Third, honestly not many people know that Pokemon cards still exist. For an oral report, my class mate said that he received a Pokemon card that was 10 years old AND Pokemon cards have stoped circulating.

pero I believe if they notice that the demand is high, they'll supply.. the problem is, the high demand is not very obvious..

Ordering some stocks outside the country is not easy like counting 1, 2 3. There are several process that NG is doing before they can order some stock - documentation, ordering from the net and tallying the total stocks needed not just by pokemon but also the other games itself held by NG. Yes, the high demand is not that very obvious because your making basis on the number of players you see on the league sites but not on some people like kids and parents that bought cards for the purpose of self satisfaction or happiness. Actually if you notice for months now I think Crystal Guardians had been only available for months and after that no more stocks arrived, yes some arrives but from older expansions or sets.
Yes, actually priority even happens and also some catastrophe and economic status might affect the decision making coming from place where the stocks is ordered. The delays and whatsoever factors that may dismayed NG to have continuous calling/asking for demand.
The Law of Supply and Demand Varies, if the demand is high there is shortage but if the demand is low, there is abundance. and now in pokemon there is limited supply and picky demand hehehe

As you can see, magic do have more players maybe multiple to 5 than to pokemon players. At this moment MAGIC are much more prioritize by NG rather than pokemon, and that is the reason why some pokemon players have the initiative to create some events without the concerned of NG, because we do believe that there's nothing pokemon players can do to populate the country of playing pokemon tcg without having continous premiere events. Playing Pokemon tcg is not a compulsary requirement, I understand your sentiment but I dont disagree with the sense of quitting pokemon just because of this issue, yes we feel the missing link on what excitement is all about, but we remember this site was created, there were league site and league leaders spending their time and words to explain the game, to create conciousness and awareness, players making events out of their light loaded pockets from works, allowance for students, and wishful begs from kids for their parents and the other efforts that pokemon still rocks, but because we ARE ALL CONCERNED, and BELIEVING that the fever can come back again anytime anywhere, it is just we are waiting for the time that all of us be granted on our wish that every card game will have a fair treatment, in terms of tournaments and events. POKEMON AND MAGIC ARE TWO DIFFERENT TCG !!! MAGIC have set their standards and pokemon are setting again their standards...

Well my position to that is still...I will not judge on anything.
Magic is way older than pokemon so no comparison as well in terms of kinds tournaments pokemon and magic are way different.

I've notice that... plus new sets come waaaay faster EDIT: Is it because of Wizards? or just more popular? It is because PUI is guided by the mother of the cards...Pokemon Japan. Once Japan releases a set PUI follows mostly after Japan releases the set (sometimes with additions or on overlapping with other sets). Since the license of PUI to produce the cards came from The Pokemon Company in Japan, I have a hunch they are following guidelines in terms of release of the sets.

waah! I can't do anything! Ehem, probably put up a site-somewhat like animax being dubbed. Pokemon TCG: Do Filipinos love it or hate it? And then show them the site..and then more people will say..love it!-and then it'll became more and more popular until they sell millions of TCGs. Get it? Wah, never mind...like that'll work. -____________-''
