Well, in the Safari Zone every trainer is governed by a special set of rules, First you cannot use your own pokemon (say bye bye to your lvl 100 Charizard), Second you can only use "Safari Balls" which are provided for you. Third you can also use "bait" and throw "stones". Bait decreases the chance of the Pokemon running away but makes it harder to catch. While, throwing a stone makes it easier to catch but more likely to run away. What I usually do it throw bait, then throw 2 stones (thou I guess it's really up to you). In the end it's up to you how to catch them but I really recommend you throw bait first EDIT: If you have money to burn (in the game of course) and you are using the FireRed version I guess you can just buy a Scyther at the Game Corner, which is around 50,000 (converted from the amount of coins).

that's also the case in Leaf Green (Pinsir)
But I have to tell you, anything you do to a chansey, it would (almost) always run away, (there are chances that chansey wouldn't) anyway, I caught my chansey the 5th time I saw it... always throw a safari ball at a chansey...
As for kangaskhan, it's better to use bait and stone combo, Tauros, I usually toss stones instead and safari ball after the second stone And Dratini.... just toss around 5-8 bait.. then toss in 3 safari balls, then repeat if it isn't caught...
That's how I caught them...

Somehow you're better off buying a Dratini unless you have patience (cause sometimes you end up spending more money getting inside than just buying one)

Buti k pa nahuli mo si chansey, ako I caught all pokemons n sa safari zone but not chansey.. >.< anyway, additional tips would be going to safari zone area 2 (the 3rd place) If your gonna catch a chansey because it has 4% chance their and sa iba is 1% lng For Scyther go to entrance area(the 1st place when you enter) kasi again, 4% sha dito and si pinsir den for LG si kangaskhan naman, safari zone area 1 naman(2nd place, the one after entrance) kasi like chansey 4% sha dito sp sa entrace, si scyther and pinsir depende sa game, sa area1 si kangaskhan and sa area 2 si chansey, AREA 3 PO SI TAUROS! XD un lng..

Well... what I meant by wala is... not worth catching... it is technically weaker than a dratini leveled up till dragonair.

Well yes, Pokemon that are trained by you starting at a lower level are much more stronger than a Pokemon caught in the wild at the same level.

Well... first of all CONGRATULATIONS cause... in one day you reached Blaine already?!?!?!? Well more to the point to answer your question Senor, you must get the Key to Gym from that weird mansion found on the same island. Now you may be askin meh, "Devoid how do I get that key you were talking about...". Then I can give you 2 answers, first I can rip a paragraph from some guide telling you how to get it but then I can also tell you to visit gamefaqs.com or some other site. So if you didn't get the *hint hint hint* Just go to gamefaqs.com (very reliable guides) for the more "detailed approach".
